I’m only about 24 minutes in and I’m confused. You spent a very long time giving data about IUI, but then you’re using that data to talk about Clomid? Clomid and IUI aren’t the same thing. And I’m confused about why you haven’t mentioned PCOS, which is the most common reason people use Clomid.

Hi Laura! Clomid is often used to stimulate ovulation prior to the IUI procedure, and it is important to know how it works, how effective it is in triggering ovulation, and also what the side effects are. Many doctors opt for ovulation stimulating drugs even when their patients are ovulating normally. Women with PCOS can conceive and get pregnant. The first step is to understand the timing, and the second step is to work towards normalizing your cycles. Clomid is often used, but it is not necessarily required. Have a listen to these PCOS episodes for more information: http://fertilityfriday.com/pcos

Thanks so much for the information! My husband and I have been referred to do IUI bc of his poor sperm morphology. I ovulate regularly and have been charting my cycles for 7 months. My question is, are there negative impacts doing IUI if I don’t have to take clomid or leteozole? Will the dr even do IUI without me taking those drugs?
Thanks!
