Rosa says
In my late teens, I lost my period for an entire year due to an eating disorder. I stopped menstruating as soon as I had reached the point of being underweight. A year later I was finally in a better place mentally and stopped being so obsessive about calories. Literally a month after I started gaining some weight, I got my first period! And then again a month later. I didn’t need any ‘help’ other than eating right.
(I’ve never been on hormonal birth control in my entire life so that couldn’t have contributed to my hypothalamic amenorrhoea.)
