France was mentioned as a role model because there all women are given “perineal re-education” with a trained midwife after each pregnancy, but as a midwife myself who lived some years in France and spoke with moms who had the therapy, the reality of it might not be as wonderful as you think. In fact, some mothers describe it as a traumatic and humiliating experience, very much about satisfying their male partners, not about regaining their health for their own sakes.
